Hospital Admissions
When you need to be admitted to Halifax Regional Hospital,
come to the Admitting Office located on the right, just inside
the main hospital entrance.
Please bring the following with you:
- All of your current insurance cards.
- A photo ID.
- All of the completed forms from your physician.
Insurance verification
Insurance verification services are available from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. Monday through Friday. Insurance companies are
contacted and benefit information is obtained on all admissions,
outpatient surgeries, and certain outpatient procedures.
Physician offices are also contacted to insure pre-certifications
are obtained when needed.
Financial Assistance
A financial assistance representative is available to
speak with patients and do follow-up assessments with all
individuals who meet qualifications for financial assistance.
The financial assistance representative receives information
on all admissions and surgery patients who are self-pay or
patients who have Medicare but do not have a supplemental
insurance policy.
