Volunteer services

Junior Volunteer Program
Halifax Regional Hospital’s Junior Volunteer program is an opportunity for motivated and energetic young people to experience work in a healthcare facility. The summer program runs from approximately late June to midAugust.

Requirements for Junior Volunteering

  • High School student between the ages of 14 and 18. Must be 14 by June 1 of the year of application.
  • 3.0 grade average.
  • Obtain tuberculosis (PPD) screening test provided by the hospital.
  • Fully complete necessary forms and return to the Volunteer Department by deadline due.
  • Incomplete forms cannot be accepted.
  • Volunteer at least one four-hour shift each week.
  • Wear identification tag and uniform shirt with white/khaki slacks/skirt.
  • Attend mandatory Teen Volunteer Orientation.
  • Be dependable.
  • Have a sincere desire to help others.
  • Practice good customer relations at all times.
