State-of-the-art equipment
Halifax Regional Hospital’s radiology department consists
of state-of-the-art equipment including the following:
- Siemens 64 slice CT scanner.
- Siemens Somatom Plus 4 Volume Zoom CT
Scanner. This true multi slice scanner allows us to gather
more information is less time, which means a faster diagnosis
and a smaller dose of radiation to the patient.
- We have two fluoroscopic rooms as well as a trauma
room and tomography room capable of performing general
and interventional radiology.
- Our two GE Nuclear Medicine
Spect cameras perform general as well as cardiac imaging.
- Our
mammography area consists of two mammography rooms and
a stereotactic breast biopsy room. The stereotactic
breast biopsy room is equipped with a digital Fischer Mammotest
for minimal invasive breast biopsies. Our mammography area
also includes CAD, the Computed Aided Detection device.
- Our two Siemens Sonoline Elegra Ultrasound systems
allow us to meet all of your ultrasound needs.
- Our GE VIVID
7 Echocardiology Ultrasound system is dedicated to your
cardiac ultrasound needs.
- Our department also has a Siemens
Harmony 1.0 T that meets all MRI needs.
