Computed Tomography (CT)
Computed tomography scanners are radiographic devices used
to create cross-sectional images of the subject to aid in
medical diagnosis and treatment. In simple terms it's like
having the capability of imaging a slice of bread instead
of looking at the whole loaf at once.
The computer is used to measure and calculate the attenuation
coefficients of the x-ray beam as it passes through the target.
Some exams require special preparation depending on the area
of the body we are scanning. Your physician will tell you
what you must do before your procedure.
