Direct access testing
Direct access testing is a service offered to the community
in which an individual, without a doctor’s order, may
walk in, order his own test, pay a small fee, and receive
confidential results.
Tests available:
- Glucose.
- Drug Screen.
- Mono Test.
- Complete Blood Count (CBC).
- Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA).
- Prothrombin time (PT).
- Liver Panel.
- Cholesterol.
- Urinalysis.
- Wellness Screen.
- Metabolic panel.
- Hepatitis B Titer.
- Lyme Disease.
- Arthritis Panel.
- Lipid Profile.
- Strep Screen.
- Blood Type.
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH).
- TB Exposure.
- Hemoglobin A1c (Hgb A1c).
- HIV.
Our direct access testing lab is located in the main laboratory
at Halifax Regional Hospital. It is open Monday through Friday
from 8:00 a.m. through 6:30 p.m. Individuals seeking lab
tests must be 18 years old or older. For more information,
