We provide:

24-hour emergency injury care seven days a week through the emergency department at Halifax Regional Hospital.
24-hour substance abuse collection.
24-hour breath alcohol testing.

Workers Compensation Program

The purpose of this service is to ensure that drug and alcohol testing is performed appropriately on identified emergency department patients who have been injured on the job.

Specific instruction sheets for participating businesses are made a part of the emergency department chart. The attending physician and/or nurse carry out those instructions to ensure that proper drug and alcohol testing is performed. Return-to-work instruction sheets are also completed for businesses requiring them.
