The diabetes education department at Halifax Regional Hospital
offers individual and group instruction in all aspects of
diabetes management. This service is free of charge to anyone
in our community.

you can always make up any lost class time if you are unable
to attend. The topics covered include the following:
- Diabetes overview.
- Medications.
- Self monitoring blood glucose.
- Exercise.
- Nutrition and meal planning.
- Complications of diabetes.
- Stress management.
- Behavior change.
Families are encouraged to attend.
