CareVital—remote monitoring of vital signs

CareVital is a service that remotely monitors a patient’s blood pressure, body weight and/or blood glucose, and allows a patient to report symptoms through an automated voice dialog system.

The patient uses the supplied equipment to check his blood pressure, weight and blood glucose. The modem module dials up a toll free number and uploads the measurements.

Once transfer of the data is completed, the telephone rings and the patient receives instant feedback on how his weight is doing as well as his current average blood pressure levels.

The patient is then asked a series of personalized questions about symptoms he might be having.

Healthcare professionals and authorized family members do not need special equipment to view the patient’s data; all that is needed is access to the Internet, a web browser and the required security codes. With that they can view, on one page, all vital signs and patient supplied health information.
