Business Health Services
Workers' compensation program
The purpose of this program is to ensure that drug and alcohol
testing is performed appropriately on identified emergency
department patients who have been injured on the job. By providing
work-related injury care, this program makes this service
an excellent choice for providing your health care needs.
Each participating business has a specific instruction sheet
attached to the outside of the emergency department chart.
The attending physician and/or nurse carries out those instructions
to ensure that the proper drug and alcohol testing is performed.
Return-to-work instruction sheets are also completed for businesses
that require them.
The role of Business Health Services is to check the employee's
chart to ensure that all specific instructions have been carried
through. A nurse who is available to give specific information
if needed then notifies the employer of the employee's visit.
Currently, we have 40 businesses actively participating in
this service.
