Medication Assistance Program
For individuals struggling to pay for prescription medications, life just got easier. Thanks to grant funding from the Virginia Health Care Foundation, the Chastain Fund and the Halifax Regional Development Foundation, MedAssist of Halifax is here to help. The medication assistance program provides medications, free of charge, to patients without prescription coverage who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Who is eligible?
Individuals with no prescription drug coverage, an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and a physician willing to participate in the program.
How does it work?
Physicians’ offices identify patients eligible for the program, or, patients may self-identify. Next, patients set up an appointment with the MedAssist of Halifax caseworker, located at Halifax Primary Care, 101 Aubrey’s Loop in South Boston, who will work with them to determine eligibility, complete the registration forms, and follow through with their doctor.
