Halifax Regional Health System (HRHS) is a multidivisional organization providing acute and long-term care, dementia care, home health, hospice, behavioral health services and a multitude of outpatient services to approximately 80,000 residents in the region. Governed by a 36-member board of directors, the system serves Halifax, Charlotte and Mecklenburg counties and surrounding communities.
Halifax Regional Hospital, an affiliate of HRHS, is licensed for 192 beds. It serves as a Regional Referral Center and provides a wide range of health and medical services for residents of all ages. More than 100 physicians representing 28 specialties serve on our medical staff.
Other affiliates include three long term care communities, four family practice offices, five specialty physician practices and a dental clinic.
Halifax Regional Health System meets the standards and requirements of all local, state and federal licensing agencies. We voluntarily submit to evaluations of our compliance with nationwide healthcare standards on a continuing basis. Halifax Regional Hospital, Home Health, Hospice and the Center for Behavioral Health are accredited by The Joint Commission.* Our licensing and accreditation ensures that Halifax Regional Health System practices continual monitoring to provide you with quality healthcare.
